Named in memory of a beloved volunteer, our Nell's Nook Thrift Store is located on Main Street in Decatur, just west of the square. It is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing clothing and household items at rock bottom prices. Everything donated to the store is returned to the community by helping to pay expenses like utility bills, prescriptions for many of our clients for medical care unrelated to their hospice diagnosis. We also help the Wise Choice Pregnancy Center by providing space in the store for their sales. We give clothes to jail inmates as they are released back to society and offer to help families who have lost their home and belongings due to tragedy such as fire. Because our auxiliary is a non-profit, 501 (3) c corporation, every donation to Nell's Nook is tax deductible.
